What could be more appealing than a full bread shelf?

At Thames Ditton Bakery, you could enjoy a different loaf of bread every day for over two weeks if you wanted to. How’s that for variety? We offer at least 16 different types of bread, but not all at the same time, you’ll understand. We sell a small selection of loaves that we bake every day, our daily staples, complemented by our daily specials.

Want to know what’s available when? Here’s the lowdown:

BREADS AVAILABLE EVERY DAY

From Monday to Saturday, we offer a small but perfectly formed range of core loaves. These are all made with sourdough, or levain as we prefer to call it. Every day, while stocks allow, you can buy our:

  • Large or small house bloomer: a classic oval-shaped bread made using a mix of white and malted flour, available in 450g or 850g loaves

  • Baton: our take on a French baguette

  • Large white bloomer: a white oval-shaped 850g loaf

  • House tin: a tinned loaf made with a mix of white and malted flour

  • White tin: a white tinned loaf

  • Seeded tin: a tinned loaf made with white and malted flour, rolled in a blend of seeds

DAILY SPECIALS

To complement our main offering, we make a different ‘special’ bread every day, as follows. Like our core range, these loaves are available while stocks last.

MondaySUPER SEEDED BOOMERANG

Inspired by our friends at Thames Ditton Boomerang Bags, we turn unsold bread into a porridge and add it to fresh dough. Our customers tell us they love its moist crumb and toast-like flavour!

Tuesday 100% WHOLEMEAL      

Made using 100% wholemeal flour, our brown bread has a silky crumb and a dark caramelised crust.

Wednesday GRANARY

This traditional English bread is made with an oat soaker for moisture and malted grain flour for flavour. Try it with Marmalade from Meath Preserves, available from View Gifts in Thames Ditton! 

Thursday - HOUSE BRIQUE

This full-flavoured Northern European-style bread is made with wholemeal and rye. Thanks to its super moist crumb, it lasts for days.

Friday - CHALLAH and CHALLAH BUNS

Our challah is soft, light, delicate and versatile. Try it in our Pastrami sandwich on Fridays!         

Saturday FOCACCIA, FOUGASSE & CIABATTA

These breads from the sun are perfect for the weekend. They’re made to be torn with your hands and shared with the people you love.

RESERVE YOUR LOAF

Our bread tends to sell out quickly, especially on Mondays and later in the week. So, if there’s a specific bread you’d like, reserve it in advance to avoid disappointment. Drop us an email or give us a call the day before and we’ll put it aside.
